Exquisite Corpse
This work was shown under different guises at Underculture Contemporary's opening exhibition, For Play, and at the second installment of the exhibition series, For Play II.
It is based on the Surrealist drawing game, Exquisite Corpse, which requires that multiple players draw segments of a body, without having seen the parts drawn by the other players before them. The result is a drawing completed by multiple authors, made up of components combined by chance. This object invited viewers to join in on a sculptural game of Exquisite Corpse.
Below are the multiple guises the object took on, as well as scenes from various viewer's explorations of it.
'Pataphysical Performance Pieces: Backstage.
These are a series of studio "messings", taken during the making of the 'Pataphysical Performance Pieces. I think somehow these scenes end up being more interesting and exciting than the finished product, but also add a further layer of meaning to the finished objects, as you can see the space and state they were conceived in.
